(27 Acre SWMF)
Eco Groundworks the successful landscape contractor for the Tawa SWMF (Storm Water Management Facility) located near the Grey Nuns Hospital. The City of Edmonton and EPCOR are the project owners and Whissell Contracting was General Contractor. The end result of this project is a beautiful park that can be enjoyed by area resident and the patients of the Grey Nuns Hospital.
Pond Details:
- The dry pond will be 3 to 5 meters deep and cover most of Sister Mary Ann Casey Park
- The pond is designed to only hold water during severe rainfall events
- The side slopes are shallow to allow easy access to recreational spaces at the bottom of the pond
- Both soccer fields were restored along with the walking paths, open green space and a sliding hill
